This is a tutorial on how to make simple construction themed invitations but you can insert any type of theme you would like.
Card stock of desired color. Black, yellow & orange will work well. Hobby Lobby usually has card stock on sale for 50% off.
Printer paper that you can get free at Staples. Sometimes they run deals that when you buy copy paper you can submit for a rebate check to get your money back.
Glue stick or some other type of paper adhesive. I bought glue sticks during the back-to-school shopping season. They were .10 for a package of 2.
Paper cutter made by Tonic Studios. My husband bought this for me many years ago as part of my birthday gift. I believe it retails for $29.99 but it was priced wrong at the store so he got it for $19.99.
Envelopes if you are mailing them. Hobby Lobby also has a wide selection of envelopes in different sizes and colors. I bought a package of 8 that retails for $2.99 but used a 40% off one regular priced item coupon. You can find these coupons on their website and in their app.
1. Use Microsoft Word or another similar program to create text for invitations. Don’t forget to add graphics that will match your theme. I found the construction graphics here. You can search Google image for whatever type of graphics would fit your theme. Make sure that the graphics are free and that you are allowed to use them as you please.
2. Print desired amount of colored copies from a printer. Don’t forget to stock up on ink. If your looking to stretch your dollars, check out Staples Rewards. You can earn rewards on specified items that can be used to purchase additional items in the store like ink.
3. Cut invites down to the size you desire with paper cutter.
4. Cut card stock also. Make sure you cut the card stock into bigger squares so that a border is created once the invite is glued on top of the card stock.
Enjoy & have fun creating!
